Our mother was a warm and compassionate person, who cared deeply for her family and friends. She was always trying to help others. Throughout her life, she was involved in the Korean community, be it as an educator or a volunteer in various charities.
As a poet, words were a vehicle for moods and feelings, A number of her works were published in journals. She was also a member of the PEN club, an international literary society. As an artist, she expressed herself in the medium of painting. There, she married the eastern and western approaches to representation. A few of her works are present here today. In 2012, she established the Chun Gallery, which became a further extension of her creativity.
Novel experiences and learning were always important to our mother. In 2019, she completed additional coursework, and was awarded her second master’s degree, specifically in art history. She was always curious and wanted to expand her knowledge. This then manifested in her enthusiasm for world travel.
Our mother was a proud person, who believed that there was no obstacle that could not be overcome with perseverance and patience.
She loved to sing and dance, and this was an expression of her happiness.
She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She is greatly missed.
