One Music for Oneness, or OMFO, is an organization that hosts music concerts to fundraise for charity groups that support children in impoverished countries where food, water, shelter, and education is not easily accessible. Our name, “One Music for Oneness” demonstrates the goals and wishes we wish to accomplish; the underlying symbolism relates to a vision that through small steps created by our organization and our music concerts, we can help reach oneness, in our world. Striving for world peace and harmony is no small feat, therefore, OMFO would like to support such movements for oneness in ways that we, as high school and middle school students, have accessibility to. The process of organizing a concert wasn’t an easy one, as the OMFO board, had to contact orchestras that would participate in our concerts, hire soloists that would love to play for a cause, create posters, reserve a venue, print tickets along with posters, and design t-shirts. Through all of our hard work, we are happy to announce that on May 15th, we will be holding our first charity concert titled the “Concert for Dreaming Kids” in support of the “Save the Children” organization. (“Save the Children” is a Non-Governmental Organization that assists children in Africa. Proceeds made from our concert, along with other donations, will aid “Save the Children” in sending farm animals to those in need. These farm animals will provide for sustainable resources.)
